Party Bus Helps Out Stranded Drivers

This was one of three packages I cut during the February 2013 storm that slammed the Midwest. Someone called our newsroom and said the Columbia Party Bus was pulling people out of the snow. When I finally tracked down the guys and the bus, their tow rope had already broken, but they continued to help push people out of the snow in style.

Small Town Ordinance Fights Surging Synthetic Drug Usage

Synthetic drugs were a major problem in the small town of Belle, Missouri, and state law didn’t outlaw half of the synthetic drugs some of the people were using. That’s when the police chief decided to take the problem into his own hands.

Sedalia Business Owners Plan to Rebuild Following Blaze

Danny and Charlene Coke had just opened their thrift store and a fire ripped through their business. They didn’t have insurance on their merchandise either, but that didn’t stop these two from looking ahead.

Mo. Republicans Take Stands Against Federal Gun Proposals

In a week where guns were on the mind of nearly every lawmaker across the country. I covered stories like this almost everyday that week and on Friday put together an overview of proposed Missouri legislation.

Helias and Jefferson City: A Can’t Miss Rivalry

Nancy and Norman Luebbert haven’t missed a Jefferson City and Helias wrestling match in decades. I originally went to the match to shoot highlights, but came away with a great story after I met the Luebberts.

Mid-Missouri Braces for Another Winter Storm

As mid-Missouri braced for another major winter storm, I headed out into the elements as the weather continued to worsen.

Council and Mayoral Candidates Talk 911 Tax

It was the last forum for candidates in Columbia and the first week our newsroom had put into place a new video editing system. I found out a few minutes before the shot I would not have any video or soundbites causing me to change my entire live shot as the show began.
